Biography

CV

Seongwon Park reproduces socio-architectural constellations in her installations—configurations drawn from the urban environment that, when placed in the distanced context of the exhibition space, draw attention to what remains unseen within the seemingly obvious.

In her sculptures and installations, she portrays urban situations with a keen sensitivity to their emotional resonance.

In recent years, she has increasingly woven her perspective as a Korean living in Germany into her artistic practice, which has significantly strengthened the expressive power of her work.

With a sense of humor, she uncovers the absurdities of everyday life and transforms them into installative situations.

Born in 1990 in South Korea, she studied sculpture in Germany at the Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design in Kiel and at the Berlin University of the Arts, where she graduated in the class of Ina Weber.
