Dominik Halmer experimentiert in seiner Installation in den vorderen Räumen des Poolhauses mit den Strukturen der menschlichen Wahrnehmung.

Die in seiner Installation ausgestellten Bilder, Objekte und die mit transparenten Folien eingefärbten Fensterflächen holen das Licht des Waldes und die Bäume des Außenbereiches bildlich in die Räume hinein.

Seine Baum-Gemälde hat Dominik Halmer zunächst in einem 3-Programm am Rechner modelliert und dann auf Leinwand mit einer speziellen Technik und Farbgebung gemalt. Die Wirkung: für den Betrachter bleiben sie nicht in ihren Bildrahmen, sondern sie scheinen daraus hervorzutreten und sich in den realen Raum zu öffnen. Sie schwanken in irritierender Weise zwischen Bild und Objekt.

Dominik Halmer geht es auch um die Frage, wie Sinn und Bedeutung der wahrgenommenen Dinge unserem Bewußtsein entstehen.

In his installation in the front rooms of the Poolhaus, Dominik Halmer experiments with the structures of human perception.

The images and objects on display in his installation, together with the window surfaces tinted with transparent films, draw the light of the forest and the trees of the surrounding grounds pictorially into the rooms.

Dominik Halmer first modelled his tree paintings in a 3D program on the computer and then painted them onto canvas using a special technique and colouring. The effect: for the viewer they do not remain within their picture frames but appear to step out of them and open into real space. In an unsettling way, they oscillate between image and object.

Dominik Halmer is also concerned with the question of how the sense and meaning of the things we perceive arise in our consciousness.
